There were so many flags fluttering away. Total silence except for the flags. Eerie yet amazing few moments. I'm glad Julie and I went.
We had a little BBQ at our place, played some yard games and watched it storm later in the evening. Our neighborhood is incredibly entertaining and the storms were moving in, so we decided to move everything from the backyard to the garage for neighbor chit chat and some shelter in case the rains came. Tonya broke out a delicious bottle of wine called Noval Black. (*Highly recommend!)
Rains has been working the keep the lawn under control with all the rain we've been getting. The neighbors all love to give him grief about his straight lines, perfect edging and clean garage. The grass was so long!! He's been mowing it every 2-3 days!!Tyler's parents stayed with us for a week. We have been looking forward to this for what seems like forever. This was their original trip back to see Cullen when he was "born" but we all know that plan didn't follow through! Now they get to see him as a 2 month old :)

While G&A were back we also had my final baby shower at Tyler's Aunt Mindy's house. Cullen made a brief appearance (as the pediatrician doesn't think public places are a real great idea yet.) We had amazing BBQ brisket, snacks and lemon bars. All of the cousins/aunts/uncles/grandparents were there. We got some very useful things that were missing from our home, and Mindy made Cullen an amazing quilt titled "Rain Drop." I absolutely love quilts. It really meant a lot ot me that she actually took the time to make one. What a talent. Also received a Bopa wrap... BEST THING EVER INVENTED -- maybe even better than the boppy without the hole in the center and I REALLY love that thing!
The grandparents spoiled us tremendously and Cullen even more. There's something about their touch that had him calm and content. (The day they left the kid was screaming his head off. He knew he was stuck with mommy and daddy once again...) COME BACK, MIMI AND POPS!!
