I've been attempting to use at least one or two new vegetables a week with our dinners. Not necessarily one we've never had but ones we rarely buy. Pinterest has given me a lot of good ideas. We started the summer off with zucchini and sweet corn. We're adding some asparagus different kinds of potatoes and different types of onions too. Instead of buying a head of lettuce we are buying green leaf lettuce and romaine. You'd be surprised how much better your salad can be with a good base! The things I'm missing a lot this summer are garden tomatoes. My grandparents used to grow so many of these when they lived out at the farm. I have yet to find good ones--even at the farmers market downtown. I'm open for suggestions and recipes : comment away!
