We were blessed to get three full days of family, sun, wonderful friends and of course too much food (wait-is there such a thing?!) over the Fourth of July.
Cullen was in his first parade. He (I) tossed out lollipops and followed the fire truck with all the other neighborhood kids. Aunt Julie and Uncle Andy surprised us by showing up in our driveway to wave us on. We settled in for naps after lunch (bonus!!) and then got a surprise visit from the Grands Steve and Cindi later on. Lake time with Cullen's friend Lilian out at Allure tired us ALL out. Cullen camped in the master bedroom closet while the fireworks lit up the sky until midnight. He was a champion-didn't wake up once.
The next few days were filled with many naps (bonus again!!) and pool times in the backyard. I got a tan line! (Listen.. It's been like 18 months!!) We met for brunch Sunday morning with a group of friends and their babies. Tyler taught Cullen how to eat cherries, and we've learned the kid loves Capri suns and Mr. Freezes.
We miss the grandparents that we didn't get to see this weekend tremendously but know it will make the next visit that much more of a delight.
So grateful for my happy, healthy baby, my handsome, helpful husband and this memory filled weekend.
