Labor Day's Weekend

By far one of the greatest long weekends I've had in a long time. We kicked off Friday after work with a little shopping. Saturday the buzz of Husker Game Day #1 2012 was everywhere. We had some brunch and proceded downtown to tailgate and meet many great friends we haven't seen in awhile...

Sunday we packed up some goodies and drinks and went to the lake. We actually scored some tan lines, which is awesome.
Monday morning I woke up post Rains taking the boys for a walk,

so basically all I did was drink coffee and lounge around. Met my mama and sis for lunch and headed to Friend to visit my grandma for her bday (scored some tomatoes from her garden) and saw my dad (he was nice enough to let us choose a few plants from his deck that he started from scratch for our backyard.)

                                               (the purple-ish / pink-ish / green one...)

It's always fun driving to Friend during different parts of the summer and fall and seeing the corn start short, knee high by the fourth of July (or taller) and now, crispy and ready for harvest. The best of the season is yet to come.

And then we get home to find choc/peanut butter/marshmallow snack mix from our AWESOME neighbors Myles and Mason on the front step. Signing off for a spot on the couch with this stuff :) g
